HIVE is a private AI workspace that runs on one person's machine, and connects to an organization workspace the company owns and controls. One application across every edition.
HIVE is being actively built and is not yet generally available. The capabilities below describe the product definition we are building toward, not a shipping feature list. We publish availability, download, and security claims only once the corresponding release evidence exists.

How HIVE Is Built
Privacy comes from the architecture, not from a policy promise. Four components, with clear boundaries between them.
HIVE Desktop
The application people actually use, on macOS, Windows, and Linux. One codebase across every edition — there is no separate app to migrate to.
HIVE Hub
The organization's own authority for team data, identity, and policy. Customer-owned, and able to operate disconnected.
HIVE Node
Compute that an administrator dedicates, or that a user opts into contributing. Off by default, and pausable at any moment.
STING
The trust fabric beneath all of it — device identity, encrypted transport, policy enforcement, privacy controls, and content-free audit evidence.
Principles We Are Building To
Personal is useful by itself
Core local document, search, conversation, and AI workflows never require a Hub, a vendor account, or an internet connection.
Collaboration is additive
Joining an organization adds shared workspaces. It does not convert, absorb, or silently upload the personal workspace already on the machine.
Your data is never held hostage
Access, export, backup, restore, and secure deletion stay available regardless of licence or entitlement state.
Team authority stays with the customer
The organization Hub is the source of truth for team data, and the organization owns the Hub.
Air gap is a normal operating mode
Disconnected operation is a supported profile in the product definition, not a degraded afterthought bolted on later.
Security fixes are not premium features
Security updates, recovery tooling, and data portability are never placed behind a higher tier.

How Licensing Works
Licensing attaches to the organization Hub and what enrolls into it — not to the desktop application, which stays free.

Free · no expiry
Personal runs on a built-in, non-expiring profile. There is no trial clock, no seat to buy, and no account required to keep using your own workspace.
Organization
Scoped per deployment
Priced around the Hub deployment, the devices enrolled into it, and any dedicated compute nodes. Enterprise reflects server-side scale and governance.
